Despite the monsoon showers and extensive security, fervent fans trailed the team, culminating in a breakfast meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The victorious team, fresh from their seven-run triumph over South Africa, was greeted by hundreds of supporters braving the inclement weather. They held placards and waved the national flag, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the champions outside the airport.

As the team disembarked, the city erupted into a celebration, with impromptu dances, multiple cakes, and fans lining the streets, a testament to the nation's passion for cricket. The exhausted players soon joined in the celebration, adding to the festive atmosphere and reminding everyone why cricket is more than just a sport in India.

Following the initial celebrations, the team visited the Prime Minister at his official residence. They spent a couple of hours at the Prime Minister's residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, before returning to the hotel, continuing with a schedule packed with celebratory activities.

Despite the evening rush hour and the traffic snarls, the citizens of Mumbai patiently endured the inconvenience to honour their heroes. The victory parade concluded at Wankhede Stadium, where the team was handed a cheque of Rs 125 crore by BCCI secretary Jay Shah. The fans filled the stands to capacity, eagerly awaiting the victorious team's arrival.
